A Different Kind of Personal Injury Firm

Quigley Personal Injury Lawyers is a boutique personal injury firm in San Diego. We limit our caseload deliberately, give every client direct access to their attorney, and bring a perspective to injury cases that most firms simply don't have.

Where We Came From

Brennan spent time representing a different kind of client entirely: disabled and homeless individuals who had been wrongfully denied Social Security benefits. People who had no money, no leverage, and no one in their corner. That work shaped the way he thinks about this practice — not as a volume business, but as something that matters to real people in difficult circumstances.

Early in his career, Brennan worked as an insurance defense attorney — the kind of lawyer hired by insurance companies to fight personal injury claims. He sat across the table from injured people and their attorneys. He learned exactly how insurers evaluate claims, what they look for when deciding how much to offer, where they find weaknesses to exploit, and how they build strategies to minimize payouts.

At some point, that work stopped sitting right.

He founded Quigley Personal Injury Lawyers in November 2018 with a specific vision: a firm small enough to give every client genuine attention, and experienced enough to go toe-to-toe with the insurance companies that would rather they didn't have an attorney at all.

Eight years later, that's still exactly what we are.

Why Smaller Actually Means Better

There is a version of personal injury law that runs on volume. Hundreds of cases, big staff, aggressive advertising, and a system built around settling quickly and moving on. That model works fine for the firm. It doesn't always work well for the client.

We made a different choice — and we protect it deliberately.

You speak with the attorney handling your case.

Not a paralegal, not a junior associate. When you hire us, Brennan handles your case. You have his direct contact information. Your calls get returned. You are never left wondering what's happening because we make it a point to tell you.

We know how insurance companies think.

Brennan spent years defending them. That experience gives us a real advantage when negotiating your settlement or preparing for trial. We know the internal logic adjusters use, the offers they make hoping you won't push back, and the arguments they reach for when a case gets contested. We've seen it from the inside.

We take cases other firms pass on.

Large firms often decline cases that don't fit their volume model — smaller claims, complex liability situations, cases that require more work relative to their potential settlement value. We take those cases seriously. Some of our most meaningful work has come from clients who were told elsewhere that their case wasn't worth pursuing.

We tell you the truth.

Not every case is a winner. Not every injury leads to a significant recovery. We would rather give you an honest picture of your situation upfront than oversell what we can deliver. If we don't think your case is the right fit, we'll tell you — and we'll try to point you somewhere useful.

FAQ

Questions We Hear Often

  • Do I work directly with Brennan, or will my case be handled by someone else?

You work directly with Brennan. We limit our caseload specifically so every client has a real relationship with the attorney handling their case — not a paralegal or associate passing messages up the chain. You'll have his direct contact information from the first conversation.

  • Does Brennan's insurance defense background actually make a difference?

It makes a significant difference. Insurance companies employ attorneys whose job is to evaluate claims, identify weaknesses, and limit what they pay out. Early in his career, Brennan spent time doing exactly that work. He knows how defense teams build strategy, how adjusters decide what to offer, and where claimants typically lose leverage they didn't know they had. That knowledge now works for our clients, not against them.

  • Do you take cases that other attorneys have declined or dropped?

Yes, and it's more common than people expect. If a prior attorney declined or withdrew from your case, that doesn't mean your claim has no value — it may mean the case requires more work than a high-volume firm is willing to invest. We evaluate every inquiry on its own facts, and some of our most meaningful outcomes have come from exactly these situations.

  • Do you accept referrals from other attorneys?

We do, and we take them seriously. If another attorney sent you to us, we understand that a professional reputation is attached to that referral. We work hard to justify the trust that comes with it.

  • How long has the firm been practicing?

We've been representing injured San Diegans since November 2018 — eight years in practice, with a consistent team and consistent approach throughout.
